Tony The Riolu (The Character)

Description

This is Tony The Riolu. What? No it's not me. It's a different Tony.

Why would I name another Riolu Tony? I know it's confusing, however I learned that I care more for my characters if they have my friends or familys names. Like Izzy and Lucky and Dixie. My friend IRL helped me make Neon, Zander and Mio, so they have meaning to me because they were created by both of us and it feels like my friend helped me create something that keeps me going.

I believe if I give this Riolu my own name, I can feel like he means something to me.

I personally don't like being the centre of attention in public. I get nerves easily and I always believed I'm boring. This is why I don't like being a main character in my older comics.

So I created Tony The Riolu, who shares the same name, only his personality is different and his eye colour. To avoid confusion, you can cell him Anthony or call me Tony The Mew.

Name: Tony
Pokemon: Riolu
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Bio: Tony was a human from the human world. In his world Pokemon was just games. One day him and his friends went out into town to meet up. They started crossing a bridge, when Nathan (one of the friends) went to the edge and looked down to the water below. Kyle, another friend, dared Nathan to climb on the railing as a joke. However to his shock, Nathan did it. He was always a dare devil, but he'd never did something like this! We all yelled at him to get off the railing, then suddenly he slipped and fell! Kyle grabbed his hand and got pulled down with him, James acted quickly and grabbed Kyles bag strap, but got dragged down with them, then Tony and Daniel grabbed James legs, but ended up being pulled down themselves! After a gient splash they swam to the surface of the water and swam to shore. They all gasped as they realized they all have became Pokemon. And their in a completely different location.

^^;

The only other way to fall in was if the bridge collapsed or if we just woke up as Pokemon. The second option is a bit boring thought.

I know what you're thinking. What's the point in making new characters when you can just use your friends?

Well if I create characters based off my friends and give them their names, they will mean something. Plus I wouldn't have to ask for input all the time from them and bother them.

This way I can play around with their personalities a little. They will be based around my friends, but if I make them characters and not my real friends I can be more free with what I can do with them.

If that makes sense?

Lets put it this way:

The real Kyle would hate being a Pokemon. He loves Xbox and Pc. without it he'd go insane and all he'd talk about is first person shooters and 3d shooters and GTA.

I don't want to reference video games that aren't Pokemon related in my comics. It makes them dated. I want them to be timeless.

The Character Kyle would talk about technology and how much he misses it. He'll still be in character, but this way he won't reference
games that will make it dated.

If you don't know what i mean by dated and timeless then let me explain.

A dated joke or reference is something someone would only get if they were around when it happened or when it was popular. A timeless joke is someone anyone from any time can laugh to or understand.

For example. If I made a joke about missingno, mostly the older Pokemon fans will get it and the newer ones won't.

And a timeless joke would be a joke any Pokemon fan can get. Like Pikachu's level always resetting back to level 5 or something after every region. It's more timeless because it's still happening. Or the fact most MD games start with you losing your memories and becoming a Pokemon. Or how unrealistic happy all the characters are.

It's like that.

I really don't know how to explain it. I just don't want to reference other video games in my comics. especially all the ones I never played before.

But that's what my friends do. We're almost always referencing or talking about video games or movies. If I make them stop, they wouldn't be in character. So I want to make characters based off them with slightly altered personalities and such.  I'm not saying them being them is a bad thing. But for comic reasons and without asking them what they would do and say every page, this is easier and more convenient for me to work with.

Put it this way. It's easier to have your own characters you know inside and out, then to keep asking your friend why their character would do all the time.

Plus seeing as their characters based off my real friends, I can have reasons why they wouldn't do or say things my real friends wouldn't do or say.

I hope you all understand. Thanks for reading.
